Questions about the air force security forces?

I'm about to join the air force security forces and have a lot of questions. I heard they get deployed a lot and usually to afghanistan. What exactly do they do while over there? Do they just stay on base? Also about the hours? My recruiter said usually 8 hour shifts but sometimes more. Does anybody have a more accurate answer? And do they usually get stationed in the states? I would like to get stationed in another country but didn't know it would be possible...lastt question. When I'm deployed is there any luxeries I would be able to take? Maybe a cell phone or laptop? Sorry I have so many question! Lol Thanks in advance!!!
