Can i bring charges against the board of education for releasing information about my child to father who neve?

i have raised my 7 year old son by myself since i gave birth.i was sexually and physically by the dad whos' 51 and i'm 37.i have put my kid in several programs trying to get help for his behavior he's in 1st grade now.so on 1/31/2011 and 2/7/2011 i get a call from the law dept of the school board saying that the father has been harassing them for information about my son.the father is not a contact person i did not list to the school.so on 2/7/2011 some lady in the school board told the father where my kid goes to school at.I thought this guy was still in prison.so the domestic violence advocate contacted me from justice affairs and told me that someone gave the father information and told me to dont send my kid to school because he was screaming and yelling through the phone saying i'm the father.so now the law dept of the school board claims they are ensuring the safety of my kid on and off the school bus.i told them this man has a bad temper and will try to fight anyone.I have asked the law dept at the school board about who this lady is that told information they claim they are investigating her for giving out information but at the same time the school board failed to tell me this guy has been harsaasing people in the school board since the first week of december,2010.but the law dept comes out and say to me we didn't know how to tell you this was happening until feb 7,2011.Can i sue the school board for this i feel i'm in danger and my child.
